About Me
My name is Phil Maurer and I work as a web designer/developer at NetXtra in Suffolk, England. Design is both my profession and my hobby alongside my other main interest - BMX.
I started in graphic design at West Suffolk College in Bury St Edmunds, followed by Suffolk College in Ipswich where I achieve a BA(Hons) in graphic design.
Through studying graphic design I developed a strong interest in 3D modelling and rendering as well as visual effects. I have been studing and learning the various aspects of CGI and 3D visualization in my spare time as well as trying to master the vast expanse of software.
As for web design, it is something that I felt I needed to learn. It was not a strong aspect of the design course I completed, so I ended up teaching myself shortly after leaving. I found that I really enjoyed working with html and CSS as well as designing the graphic elements of websites. However, currently I am more skilled in design than in code and am slowly improving my code knowledge. Currently I work with html, CSS, PHP and Jquery.
So thats me, if you would like any more information or to ask me a question, feel free to contact me.

About this site
This site was set up initially as a showcase for my graphic work and also as a testing ground for my web development skills. It has evolved quite a lot over the year or so it has been around - features have been added and everything is slowly being refined.
I'm increasingly feeling that it's outdated though and as soon as I find the time to write myself a nice CMS I'll re-do it all ;)
